Ko wai mātou? / Who are we?

Te Oranga - National Māori Medical Students Association

Ko Te Oranga te rōpū whakahaere i ngā kaupapa katoa mō ngā tauira rata Māori. Ānei ētahi o ngā whāinga o Te Oranga:

Whakatairanga - To proactively identify and advocate on issues important to members

Whakapiri - To facilitate events which promote whakawhanaungatanga between members

Whakatipu - To encourage cultural growth of members through the learning of te reo and tikanga Māori

As the year progresses, we hope to provide numerous opportunities for students from both respected medical schools to form strong connected relationships, sharing the same drive to provide the healthcare that our people deserve.

We pride ourselves on being advocates for all students, expressive in our active stance on current health, political and social issues in Aotearoa. The health and well-being of our students is a priority for Te Oranga, and we encourage all students to approach us with suggestions, thoughts, or for support in whatever capacity.

Te Oranga look forward to engaging and forming relationships with new and current students and doctors, and plan to do so at our various events for the year!

Mauri tū, Mauri ora!
